Question by Katie Notman: Is this Good Writing For someone who is only 12?
Is this good? I genuinely am 12.

The high, green hill of Lumenti was shaded that day by the rough, twisted, gnarled old Wisdom tree which stood at the top. From the uppermost branches, you could observe the whole of Koupia laid out before you like a tiny model. The golden Kapinouse palace shone like a misleading beacon on the edge of the sparkling sapphire Louland River. Seana birds flew out of the Eastern sun, screeching. Rapidly, they began to swoop down and encircle the Aquama camp, where the smoke from their tribal fires engulfed the birds, silently swallowing them whole. Suddenly, the Reaman festival horns sounded, drawing Reamans and creatures alike back into the tribal walls, and the scent of burning leaves spread over the verdant hill.
Rouesea shut up her ancient, battered old telescope, slid it into her black leather holder, and swung down out of the aged Wisdom tree with the practiced ease of a monkey. The rough bark scraped against her leg, and she winced as she felt it graze her thigh. The fragrant, delicate aroma of roaring purple camp fires drifted aimlessly around in the breeze, and the damp morning air created an optimistic taste on her tongue, preparing her for the day ahead. Rouesea landed gracefully and expertly back on her feet, her nut brown sandals flapping against her ankles as they came unlaced.
The young girl surveyed the area around her, observing the sugar-sprinkled frosty village before her. Rouesea smiled at the world, and ran swiftly down the hill. Her long, chestnut brown hair, in its usual plait, flew out behind her, its forest green ribbon rippling like a dragon’s tail in the early morning breeze. Her dark green tribal tunic showed stains of mossy earth from the forest of Kapinouse, gathered no doubt from one of her almost daily adventures in the ancient tribal catacombs. They formed a spider-web network of tunnels beneath the whole of Koupia.
Rouesea’s precious holder, which she found so useful for carrying such items as her telescope and food to sustain her on her many adventures, was clipped onto her belt by a small silver clasp. Her eyes, which were constantly dancing about, eagerly seeking out new delights, were a deep hazel, with flecks of forest green sprinkled amongst the brown. Her long eyelashes were delicate and black.
As she reached the camp, Rouesea realised that something was wrong ; her normally tanned skin turned as white as the canvas of the tent next to her. Why was nobody there?
Suddenly, she heard the unmistakeable sound of a snapping twig. Rouesea gasped, and slowly turned around, her heart beating hard and fast in her throat, dreading the worst. But as she saw what it was that had made the noise, her eyes widened in surprise. For what stood in front of her was not a monster, nor a wild dog of the woods, but a girl, dressed not in Reamean green, but in Loueshean red. Enemy colours……..

here is another

As the train rounded the corner, Albus slid open the door of the first glass- doored compartment he came to. This was an extremely bad and unwise decision. He was chased out by a hoard of angry - looking seventh years who had been practicing advanced spell casting and, quite clearly, did not require the presence of a silly little first year. The next time, he was more fortunate about the door he chose to open. As he entered the second compartment, he caught sight of a small boy with mousy brown hair, who was sitting up in the luggage rack, holding his knees up to his chin. A small black kitten was asleep beside him on an old, battered trunk.
The boy did not seem to realise Albus had entered the apparently empty compartment, so Albus, catching sight of his new acquaintance, cleared his throat to make himself noticed. The boy looked down at Albus and smiled. Albus was slightly taken aback, because one of the boy's eyes was purple, and the other was hazel brown. The boy noticed the confused look on Albus's face, and said
‘Oh, not again'. He then shook his head and his eyes both turned green. He took out a mirror and examined his eyes. 'Close enough.' he sighed.
'My name is Thomas', he grinned. 'Sorry about the thing with the eyes. I'm a metamorphmagus, and I can't really control my powers properly yet. My parents thought it would be a good idea to send me to Muggle school when I was younger, and, well, I don’t think my teacher was planning on dying her hair pink’

Well, are they good?

Question by luz del alma: Can I have some harsh criticism for this one here? I would like it ripped apart XD.?
I am a serious writer and want to improve my craft. I would like this really torn apart and scratched to bits. I won't take it personally, I could just really use some advice for this.

First, the bitterness.

“You’re fired.”

Then, the shock. The sorrow in the wind.

“Not good for the economy…” She had heard enough. A few minutes, a few seconds, of this had been all too much. The man with his trademark fishing hat rambled on, his thick belly bouncing as he spoke. He didn’t care for me, or others usually, but especially me. Had it out for me, seemed like. I didn’t doubt it for a moment.

That’s how I saw my Winter’s Eve. Not sought nor gained. Now, four hours later, it was nearing midnight. The wind froze in its tracks across my ruddy cheeks; my scarf clung to the nape of my neck. I carried with me a small package, for my daughter Anna at home. Times were tough. And the final paycheck I had received only hours before wasn’t going to go to waste. I settled on a beautiful glass sculpture of a phoenix. Clear, with tantalizing hints of scarlet and in its edges. Beautiful. Expensive.

It was going to be the last of Christmases. Stuck in a dead end job, now fired from a dead end job; there was no hope. It was misery business to return home with this heavy news of the crumbling financial situation. News for post Christmas, I decided. It was going to be our last supper, of sorts. Except in Christmas fashion.

A lot of fun, seemed like.

I walked across the crisp snow. The Church in the midst of the hazy fog accumulating stood aglow with its fiery verve. Dulled voices rang out in Christmas cheer, words I once found encouraging, now slighting. A bundled knot formed in my stomach. It rose up into the chest, and sat there, heavy like a weight. Dulled I reached up and my hand found warm tears chilling in the frigid breath of time.

A man’s cry rang out, an icy chill down my spine. I raced down into the curvature of the path, until reaching an isolated spot, where fishing gear sat nearby, abandoned.

Without thinking I jumped into the river, clothes, and all in tow.

It was only then I realized that the man, my boss, was trapped. As was I, along with him. We were carried down the river. The present bobbed up ahead, until resting atop an icy chunk several feet away.

The icy water carried us through, roughly. It was all we could do to hold on to each other. I was filled with deep regret at my actions. The last person I wanted to see, I tried to save. How bitterly ironic.

We neared the icy sheet. I caught on first and he clung to my shirt. I climbed up on top of the ice, shaking, and shivering.

The ice cracked. I stared in his eyes dead on.

He swallowed. “It’s not going to hold.”

I couldn’t find the words. I felt disappointed. Vengeful. Sad, even blessed. All of which poured through my glass.

I looked away.

“I’m going to let go.”

The ice cracked.

“No!” I exclaimed finally.

He took a deep breath. “I fired you for no mistake, Laura. I was jealous of you, jealous of everything you had. You had the creds, the experience, the drive, everything. But I was jealous. I wanted….” He looked once more into my transfixed green eyes.”But I only realize now I loved you, for everything you had, for everything you are despite what you were given. Merry Christmas Laura. Goodbye, Laura.”

He let go. The water took hold without a spare moment, spiraling the man as he braced himself, closing his eyes until at last his body was carried away, deep into the Christmas morning.

I went home, shaking and stunned. The man I hated, gone. Why did I feel so empty? Did I love the man? The monster?

I did. I truly did. I realized only then, everything, the comments, the work, everything was around me. Me. And he loved me. It took me a while to realize it…he loved me.

But like my dreams, like the man, like the gift; they were gone, drowned in bitter fate, and a few bundles of cash, of sparse Christmas delight.
@Hopeful
Well I am 15 years old if thats what you mean. I do appreciate your comments, though. Thank you fro taking the time, I do know I tned to get carried away when I'm writing like this.

Lots of drama for no reason. When I read it I feel that I am in an elevator smashing from the basement to the penthouse at the speed of light. Relax and enjoy the story yourself. Stop trying to impress with your writing ability.

Unless of course you are trying to sound like a high school essay.

Question by Whisperer: The metals market has silver at .90 an ounce. Is this what the buyer will pay if I have bullion such as ;?
I have silver eagle dollars? How about other silver coins? Where is the best place to take these and cash them in? I live in southern Wisconsin and am wondering if it is normal business for a bank to buy these?

Best answer:

Answer by Mike
.90 is the spot price that silver is traded on the commodities market. The price offered by dealers could be 5%-80% below that price and could charge a premium of 5%-80% over that price when selling depending on what the market will bare.

Banks won't buy them and you will need to find a dealer that will purchase them at a reasonable discount.

Question by fun mommy: What kind of coin is this?
What kind of coin is this?

The front side says American Eagle (though this is different from any American Eagle silver dollars I've seen)

The tails side says ONE TROY OUNCE at the top, and under it 31.1 grams

The bottom says 999 Fine Silver, and under that SILVER TRADE UNIT

In small lettering on the left and right side each it says A S & M Co

It's also not printed straight up and down. As in, if you flip it completely vertical it the other side is ****** at a 30 degree angle.

The thing that really sets it apart though is the bell on the back, which appears smaller than other coins I've seen with a bell.

Here are pics:

It is called a silver round and was minted by a private mint not the U.S. Mint. your photo's are out of focus so i can not see the writing. it has what is called a rotated reverse unless it was made that way on purpose. Over the years there are hundreds or maybe thousands of types of silver rounds and no book was ever published on them. The records kept by private mints were never saved and a lot of mints started up back in the 1960's through the 1990's and never made it. No one knows how rare some of the silver rounds are. They are usually a one troy ounce of silver .999 pure. The term silver trade unit kept a lot of the private minters out of jail, for the secret service frowns on what are really medals, that look like or could be mistaken for U.S. mint coins. I did a check on the company name but came up blank as a mint. You may never know much about it unless more research is done and a book shows up. I do wish the photo's were sharper, there may have been a clue there also look around the edge for any wording. This is the best i can do at this time.

Question by DavidFL: This Silver American Eagles are around to buy right now and the price of an ounce of silver is around ?
How much can you expect to sell them for at a coin dealer?

Best answer:

Answer by Michael C
A dealer will usually pay spot price less 10%. You can check the daily spot price at kicosilver.com. You would do better selling them on Ebay or any other auction site.

Question by woodson532003: How many Silver Eagles have been minted this year?
I understand they are out of blanks.

Best answer:

Answer by Taiping
The normal 2009 silver eagle bullion coin is not rare for dealers are selling them for or so. The 2009-W proof and 2000-W special satin ones are still not available from the mint and they are not saying anything about them. So on those you will have to wait until the mint releases them or at least starts the ordering.

Question by bigg_dady_mo3000: What is the Name of this song?
these are the lyrics

Reluctantly crouched at the starting line, Engines pumping and thumping in time. The green light flashes, the flags go up. Churning and burning, they yearn for the cup. They deftly maneuver and muscle for rank, Fuel burning fast on an empty tank. Reckless and wild, they pour through the turns. Their prowess is potent and secretly stearn. As they speed through the finish, the flags go down. The fans get up and they get out of town. The arena is empty except for one man, Still driving and striving as fast as he can. The sun has gone down and the moon has come up, And long ago somebody left with the cup. But he's driving and striving and hugging the turns. And thinking of someone for whom he still burns. He's going the distance. He's going for speed. She's all alone In her time of need. Because he's racing and pacing and plotting the course, He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse, He's going the distance. No trophy, no flowers, no flashbulbs, no wine, He's haunted by something he cannot define. Bowel-shaking earthquakes of doubt and remorse, Assail him, impale him with monster-truck force. In his mind, he's still driving, still making the grade. She's hoping in time that her memories will fade. Cause he's racing and pacing and plotting the course, He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse. The sun has gone down and the moon has come up, And long ago somebody left with the cup. But he's striving and driving and hugging the turns. And thinking of someone for whom he still burns. Cause he's going the distance. He's going for speed. She's all alone In her time of need. Because he's racing and pacing and plotting the course, He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse. He's racing and pacing and plotting the course, He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse. He's going the distance. He's going for speed. He's going the distance. Believe I'll Jump Right In... Nothing else to say.

No but never give your Primary address for anything as that or when ordering things on the NET. Give them a Yahoo. Hot Mail or Gmail since you can always change that easy. When they get the address you use for Outlook Express etc then expect a lot of Spam.
