Question by DavidFL: This Silver American Eagles are around to buy right now and the price of an ounce of silver is around ?
How much can you expect to sell them for at a coin dealer?
Best answer:
Answer by Michael C
A dealer will usually pay spot price less 10%. You can check the daily spot price at kicosilver.com. You would do better selling them on Ebay or any other auction site.

Question by Ron P: What is the typical Bid/Ask price for gold and silver bullion coins?
I called a dealer and he said that I pay over spot to purchase the gold, and that he will buy back gold for over spot. Does that sound like standard practice? And silver is .50 over spot to buy and .50 to buy back. Todays prices were 1.oz Gold and .oz Silver and these were American Eagles.
Best answer:
Answer by Kevin H
A premium over spot price is standard practice in the Bullion Market. The amounts you describe are alittle high for gold but good for silver.
Premiums depend on several factors:
Supply & Demand
Amount of bullion purchased
Brand of Mint (Silver & Gold American eagle's versus a no-name Mint)
Current Market Conditions(Hot/Cold)
New bullion or Circulated
You can get like 90% silver coins for as low as .50 over spot.
Gold American Eagles around .00 over spot. Silver Eagle's - over spot.
