Question by jason g: why is american silver eagle coins more expensive than the silver bullion on monex.com..?
does this mean, coins are better than the silver bars itself..?
and which one will you rather buy coins or the silver bars..? (for me is coins for storage)
Best answer:
Answer by wildbirdie The bars are just bulk silver. What they look like doesn't matter. The coins have a higher manufacturing cost.

Question by Dr. M: good coins for investment purposes?
I have been purchasing silver eagles pf-70 certified pcgs or NGC, as well as hoarding silver bars, but I've watched them trade around and they seem to do quite well, I've more than tripled my value in what I spent on silver with the market the way it is.
Any other good ones to buy? I have the entire state quarter set in silver as well...
reccomendations?
gold is out of the price range for me though.....
Best answer:
Answer by John F If you can afford it GOLD is the best buy .Especially Krugerrands.Unbelievable value prices since I first had them.

Question by Dani: Where in North Carolina or anywhere else, can you sell old American Eagle Silver Dollar Coins for good value?
I have old American Eagle Silver Dollar Coins, from the 1980's up to the 2000's. If you know where I can sell them around North Carolina, where I would get a good value for them, or if you have any information on these types of coins, it's all greatly appreciated! Thanks!
P.S- When I say North Carolina, i'm around Charlotte. So somewhere nearby would be ideal, but i'm willing to travel some too, if need-be. Thanks again!

Answer by liberty 911 With these two links you can search for local coin dealers and coin clubs with people who will help you. The value of silver American Eagle coins is based on the current spot price of silver though dealers will pay a bit less in order to make a profit.

Question by Shanizzel: Are silver american eagle coins good as an investment?
I'm not talking about investing hundreds of dollars on them. What I am saying is, you hear a lot of people saying a today isn't going to be worth as much later right? Well if I were to purchase a Silver American Eagle coin this year, would the or so dollars spent on it be better served that way or just being saved at home.
Best answer:
Answer by Santosh They could be worth millions 25 to 30 years down the line....

Question by doc4life29: Why are my silver eagle coins browning on the edges on both sides?
Just bought some. When I got them they were real nice silver. In just a few minutes one started to brown on the front near the sides. What happened and is there anything I can do to unbrown the coin?
Best answer:
Answer by Deric T if you bought the coins uncirculated then the oils from your hand or the materials that you might have used to protect the coins would have caused this. Do not worry; in fact, sometimes this browning effect can prove that the coins have been uncirculated. However, if you do not want the browning to be on the coins the www.littletoncoin.com has cleaning solutions. If you bought the coins as proofs, you should send them back and next time do not touch them; they are very valuable.

Question by vanbadiwal: What is a one ounce proof silver bullion American Eagle worth? I have 1986 and 1987 coins.?
Best answer:
Answer by greg b Silver is at 20.10 an ounce
The Silver eagle market is around 22$ for a regular date - so thats the bear minimum.
All silver eagles are uncirculated so quality is prob not an issue for you, if they are still in their original case from the mint they are probably ms 67- to ms 69.
Both of your coins are around -40.
Hold onto them, silver will probably increase even more as the economy slumps.
