Do i need to bu a ds lite or dsi for pokemon online battling and trading? or both?

You can do it with both the DS Lite and the DSi.Just buy whichever one you want.

    All Nintendo DS systems – that is, the first one, the lite, the DSi, the new DS XL thing – all of them have wireless capability.

    Meaning, if you’re around a wireless connection, you have internet access on all DS models so long as that wireless port is registered on your DS.

    nah, any type of DS will work, whether its the Original, DS lite, DSi or DSi XL (or whatever its called)…nintendo’s not that mean to make you have to keep buyin the newer model for one of their most popular games (which makes enough money as it is).

    And, all DS system have wi-fi capability as long as you have the nintendo wi-fi usb to plug into your computer so any system is fine.

    You can use any DS systems. All DS systems are Wi-Fi compatible. The newer DSs that came out (Nintendo DSi, Nintendo DS XL, Nintendo DS Lite) are just improved versions of the original ones, but they are all essentially DSs. You only need one DS system to be able to battle and trade online.

    but there are pros and cons
    the DSlite are cheap but the hinges usually broke
    the DSi have cameras but its expensive
    but both have wireless capacities so you can trade and play even if you have a different system than your playmate.
